THE TALENT GUIDE

PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION

ARE YOU READY??

Here's a little guide to help you know what to bring + expect at your session. Handling these details now means that once you're under the lights, you can just relax and be yourself.

I can't wait to see what we create together!

WARDROBE

The studio has a private dressing room equipped with rolling wardrobe rack, full-length mirror, clothes steamer, lint rollers, tide sticks, sewing kit and baby wipes.

Variety is key

Please bring more than you expect to wear! I recommend having 3 to 4 outfit options ready. We want to show "range"—from a friendly commercial look to a more dramatic theatrical vibe.

Color

Solid, vibrant colors work great (think jewel tones like blues, greens, or teals). You can never go wrong with a simple white t-shirt and/or a solid black top. I suggest avoiding neon, busy patterns, or large logos, as they distract from your face.

Layers

Jackets, knits, denim, and layered pieces photograph beautifully and add texture to the final images.

Undergarments

Don't forget to consider the shape and visibility of your undergarments. Different tops require different silhouettes, so please pack accordingly.

HAIR & MAKEUP

The goal is to look exactly like you do when you walk into a casting call or audition room—just a little more refined.

Hair

Please arrive with your hair clean and styled in your most "everyday" way. Bring a hairbrush, hairspray, hair ties, or clips; I may want to capture a few shots with your hair pulled back to show off your bone structure.

Makeup

"Less is more" for most talent scouts and casting directors. They look for a fresh, youthful face, so I recommend keeping makeup light. We want to even out skin tone and accentuate the cheeks, lips, and eyes.

  • Yes: Concealer, mascara, blush, and lip balm.

  • No: Heavy eyeliner or dark lipstick.

Lip Balm

Please bring a clear lip balm to keep your lips hydrated throughout the shoot.

FINAL PREP

Rest & Hydration

A good night’s sleep and staying hydrated make a world of difference on camera.

The "Vibe"

This is a collaboration! I encourage you to think about a few "characters" or songs you love to help bring out those different expressions during our session.
